My relationships with https://news.ycombinator.com/ was rather stormy. I would say that I have graduated from it, starting as a naive idealist and ended up as a bitter dissident.
I has been banned from it about 10 times, but never for anything stupid or blatantly wrong. Every fight I picked up was about something unorthodox, controversial or against so called common sense (what mostly uneducated society is currently agreed upon).

In some sense this is the best resume one could have. I fought the whole world (at an intellectual battleground) and almost won.
